Should I expect to feel hypnotised?
Every day for some part of the day, you daydream, eating breakfast, driving the car, these are very normal states which everyone experiences.
People often come with the expectation that there is something different about being in a hypnotic state which is different from their normal state of consciousness. This is not the case; a light state of hypnosis is simply a feeling of deep relaxation. For example, have you ever been so focused on your internal thoughts, that you haven’t noticed what’s going on around you? eg driving to work... you arrive and can't remember the journey
Will I feel relaxed?
Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and with increased levels of relaxation, the greater your experience.
Will I be in control?
You are in complete and absolute control, it’s really important that you understand that I can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do, we work collaboratively. Your unconscious mind will only accept suggestions for your higher good and will reject those suggestions that aren’t, just like your body rejects a splinter. Your unconscious mind has enormous power and wisdom and if you tap into it, it can help you achieve your goals.
Is Hypnotherapy safe?
Hypnotherapy is completely safe, you are in complete control and you will only accept suggestions that are for your benefit.
So what is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a super-relaxed state of mind, it’s that state of being which makes you feel so good, because you are both physically and mentally relaxed, it’s what’s known as an altered state of consciousness.
It enables you to connect with your subconscious mind where you can recall memories, experiences, or events that have influenced your beliefs. It also enables you to take yourself to an inner place of centeredness, where ideas and suggestions are accepted as being true, there is no logical evaluation.
Whilst in a hypnotic state, suggestions are communicated to your unconsious mind, which enable you to bring about the change that is right for you. You will accept these suggestions or ideas as being true because in this state you have turned off your inner chatter box, the voice that tells you what is and what is not possible.
